Forno Cultura
Andrea Mastrandrea
Andrea is an architect and designer with a Bachelor of Architecture from the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design (1998). Coming from a family of bakers, he represents the third generation committed to preserving the tradition and quality of artisanal baking. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with architecture, design, and graphic studios in Toronto and internationally, developing a multidisciplinary approach that spans interiors, furniture, and spatial design.

This sensibility is deeply embedded in his work at Forno Cultura, where Andrea plays a key role in shaping not only the physical spaces but also the overall experience of the brand. His architectural background informs the way each bakery is conceived: thoughtfully designed environments where production, service, and customer interaction coexist seamlessly. Central to his vision is the concept of an open kitchen, welcoming and accessible to everyone, reflecting transparency, community, and a shared love for craftsmanship.

At Forno Cultura, Andrea's work goes beyond aesthetics. He brings a strong focus on materiality, workflow, and the preservation of traditional baking techniques, ensuring that spaces are both efficient and inviting. From kitchen layouts to the presentation of bread and pastries, every detail reflects a careful balance between function, design, and the enduring quality inherited from his family.

His long-standing interest in food culture and collaboration with chefs naturally evolved into his involvement with Forno Cultura, where he bridges architecture and baking. Through this work, Andrea creates spaces that foster community, highlight the craft behind the product, and elevate the everyday ritual of bread-making into a meaningful, shared experience.
